For her presentation at La Vitrine in Lausanne, Tessa Perutz has selected a series of frottages (oil pastel rubbings) taken from architectural and structural elements around France and Switzerland in 2025 - 2026.

While primarily known for her semi-abstract depictions of landscapes, portraits, and botanical motifs, the works on view are pastel imprints of ubiquitous iconography found throughout the urban landscape; a testi- mony to the artist’s penchant for spontaneous exploration.

While diaristic in nature, the artist produces these frottages on her day-to-day trajectories, the captured imagery includes patterning, lan- guage, and other visual signifiers, providing various impressions of visualized information exchanges within populated environments.

Tessa Perutz is an artist based in New York and Paris. She received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and also studied at The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL in London, UK.

In 2018 and 2023, she was the artist-in-residence at Verbier 3-D Foundation, where her work is also on view in the permanent collection of the Verbier Sculpture Park.
